The first articles of the special issue "Older Adults in the Emergency Department" are now available

The first articles of the special issue "Older Adults in the Emergency Department" have now been published. This special issue is dedicated to the challenges that population ageing poses to clinical practice in the emergency care setting.

The articles published so far address key topics, including the evolution of Internal Medicine in the era of longevity, the importance of effective communication with older adults, and the impact of loneliness as a determinant of health.

This special issue aims to promote scientific updating and encourage reflection on more integrated, person-centred, and age-appropriate models of care for older adults.
