Intramedullary Ependymoma: a revision of the literature following diagnosis of a clinical case
Keywords:
intramedular ependymoma, low back painAbstract
Low back pain is a common complaint in clinical practice. The
authors’ presents a 33 year-old man, with a long history of low
back pain, with an eventual diagnosis of Intramedular Ependymoma at D9-L1. Ependymoma is a glial tumor and it is the most
frequent intramedullary tumour in the adult patient. We must bear
in mind that this tumor is one of the possible differential diagnoses
when we investigate a complaint of low back pain, especially if
associated with neurological signs.
