Cutaneous Periarteritis Nodosum is a rare form of vasculitis,
with less than 250 cases described in the literature. The major
difference from the systemic form is the absence of visceral
involvement. It usually presents as sometimes painful, cutaneous
or subcutaneous nodules, which can ulcerate and are usually
located in livedo reticularis areas. The diagnosis is based on the
clinical presentation and histological result.
The authors present the case of a 17 year-old girl with cutaneous periarteritis and a brief revision of this clinical entity.
