Abstract

The authors report a rare clinical and radiologic
presentation of spinal tuberculosis and review the
literature on the subject. Some epidemiological data
regarding Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection is
mentioned and the available statistics of our country
are included. Special emphasis is given to the
different clinical and radiologic aspects of the three
pathogenic mechanisms of vertebral involvement in tuberculosis.
