Abstract

The prevalence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection
and the relevance of rifampicin in its treatment led
us to present the following clinical case report, which
is characterized by multi-organic failure in the
context of an adverse reaction to rifampicin.
Secondary effects to drugs deserve special
attention and, in the case of rifampicin we should
be specially alerted to intermittent and previous
therapy with possible patient’s sensitization to the drug.
