Abstract

The concept of Internal Medicine has changed
during the last decades. At the beginning of this
new millennium, what is the future that we can
foresee for Internal Medicine? Who are going to be the internists of the XXI century?
Many of the changes will emerge from the
evolution of the actual society. Several are possible.
In pre- and post-graduate teaching, in curricula
definition, in the formation of General practitioners,
at the organisational level and in accepting Managing care as a new way of acting.
