The search for early signs of cancer allowing the rapid therapeutic and diagnostic intervention, is the main concern of all clinicians. As such, tumour markers can be a precious help.
ln a short revision concerning this theme, the authors presenta pratical definition and classification of tumour markers, giving more importance to sero lngical markers, as these are more easily obtained. Despite their limitations, the use of these markers in clinicai practice is referred to in this work.
