The authors present the case of an abdominal wall hematoma
as a coughing complication in patients with community-acquired pneumonia and that did not use oral anticoagulants or
heparin in high doses. This is a disease with low prevalence but
considered for differential diagnosis with other causes of acute
abdomen. Its appearance is associated most commonly with
anticoagulation. In the case described, a conservative medical
treatment was selected.
