O carcinoma pulmonar do tipo células grandes é pouco frequente comparativamente com os outros tipos histológicos.
A maioria das neoplasias pulmonares têm manifestações clínicas sugestivas do tumor primitivo, sendo a mortalidade elevada com evolução arrastada. Os autores descrevem o caso de uma doente com 64 anos da idade, com queixas de dores epigástricas, astenia, emagrecimento e adenopatias cervicais, cujo diagnóstico final foi de carcinoma pulmonar neuroendócrino de células grandes com disseminação multiorgânica.
