Abstract

Disuifiram can be used as adjuvant terapeutic in the management of some selected cases of cro­nic alcoholic dependence, causing extreme dis­confort in the course of drinking alcoholic beve­ rages.

The authors present a case report of leucoence­ falopathy, periferal neuropathy and hyponatremia in an alcoholic patient, and discuss the relations between those adverse reaction and the intoxicati­ on with disuifiram and it's metabolite, carbon di­suifide.
