Abstract

Endocarditis is a disease characterized by its high mortality. The treatment recommended in the guidelines often involves the simultaneous use of several antibiotics for a long period. Often, patients affected by this disease have several associated comorbidities, which limit the use of recommended antimicrobials. The present case describes a patient with endocarditis who, due to his pathologies and organic limitations, was prevented from comply a prolonged treatment for endocarditis, nevertheless he achieved a documented cure, despite the short-term treatment regimen.
