Trombofilias: importância do seu estudo na patologia tromboembólica

Resumo

A trombose venosa é uma entidade de etiologia multifactorial,
resultando da interacção entre factores genéticos e adquiridos. De entre eles salientam-se as trombofilias que podem ser
identificadas em cerca de metade dos indivíduos com trombose
venosa. Factores como a idade jovem, a ausência de factor
desencadeante, a recorrência e a história familiar de trombose
venosa podem aumentar a probabilidade de identificação de
trombofilia. Neste artigo procede-se à revisão das indicações para
o rastreio de trombofilia, assim como da necessária bateria de
testes, e discute-se a pertinência do diagnóstico de trombofilia
à luz do conhecimento actual.
