Sepsis fulminante com hemólise intravascular maciça por possível Clostridium Perfringens

A sepsis por Clostridium perfringens é uma infecção grave, hoje
em dia pouco comum, sobretudo associada a doenças malignas
do tracto digestivo ou do foro hematológico. A hemólise intravascular maciça é uma complicação rara e característica desta
infecção. Foram descritos alguns casos em pessoas previamente
saudáveis. Devido ao seu curso tendencialmente letal, impõem-se o diagnóstico rápido e a pronta instituição do tratamento. Os
Autores apresentam o caso clínico de uma mulher, sem doenças
conhecidas, com evolução fulminante. Não foi possível a identificação definitiva do agente, mas observaram-se bacilos Gram
positivos com o típico aspecto de boxcar nos neutrófilos do sangue
periférico, o que, neste contexto, é praticamente patognomónico
da infecção por C. perfringens. A propósito desta situação, os
