Acanthosis Nigricans revisited
Keywords:
Acanthosis nigricans, Paraneoplastic syndrome, insulin resistance, Type 2 Diabetes mellitusAbstract
Acanthosis nigricans is a dermatosis, often described as a paraneoplastic syndrome or as a manifestation of insulin resistance. It occurs rarely and the clinician seldom sees it. The authors present a review of this cutaneous finding, as a means of increasing clinician awareness of this rare entity.
