Today, hypoglyctemia is an inevitable consequence of intensive treatment in diabetes, specially with insulin therapy.
The authors review the clinical aspects of hypo glyctemia in diabetes. After a brief introduction about glucose metabolism, the glucoregulation and counterregulatory failure, they describe the symptoms, causes and consequences, the hypoglycaemia anawareness, its prevention and treatment.
