Abstract

The authors present the case of a 32 year old male presenting the classic features of Erythema Chronicum Migrans. Significant titles for Borrellia burgdorferi were then obtained. After an antibio­tic triai with tetracycline a good response was ob­tained, with a quick disappearance of ali skin lesi­ons. ln two months time new secondary skin lesi­ons of Lyme disease, together with a bilateral and intense peri-orbital oedema and purulent conjunc­tivitis, occurred. Again a good response was ob­tained from doxicyclin with a quick disappearan­ce of all features. ln the following months with an almost monthly sequence, multiple relapsing epi­sodes of widespread secondary cutaneous lesions of Lyme disease were seen. A definitive remission was then obtained, upon use of I. V. ceftriaxon.
