The author makes some observations, concerning the importance that the ability to visualise organic lesions has made, to the evolution of Medicine. Particular reference to the imaging techniques of TAC, fibre-optic instruments and micro-camaras, available since the 1980's, is made, emphasizing the consequences which these new techniques have introduced to the practice of traditional Clinical Medicine.
