Erythrocytosis secondary to autonomous non-tumoural production of erythropoietin

The case of a 24-year-old man, erythrocyanotic
since birth, with secondary erythrocyanosis, is
described. Investigation identified autonomous (non-tumoural) production of erythropoietin which was
unresponsive to isovolemic phlebotomies.
