Abstract

The authors emphasize points of particular importance, essential to record, when reporting clinically in oncological patients. Information must be clear and reproducible concerning criteria for staging, performance status, treatments given, results and complications. lnternational criteria must be used which allow results to be compared by different investigators.

The use such criteria, even when not undertaking a study protocol treatment programme, brings a higher quality to the care given. It is vital, when identifying familial cancer syndromes, as the accompainment of these cases is different, in comparison to sporadic cases.
