The authors present a case of acute metabolic encephalopathy
following preparation for colonoscopy with an aqueous sodium
phosphate containing regimen as Fleet Phospho-Soda®. A
concise review is also made about the most frequent methods
used in intestinal preparations, the possible complications and
description of certain patients groups towards whom we should
be more cautious.
