Keywords:
Adult-onset Still’s disease, arthralgia, fever of unknown origin, maculopapular rashAbstract
Adult-onset Still's disease is a rare disorder of unknown etiology.
The authors report the case of a man presenting, within a fortnight, recurrent attacks of non-focal fever (>39º) and arthralgia.
During the first days of evaluation, an evanescent salmon colored
maculopapular rash was noted during fever attacks. After the
possibility of an infectious, autoimmune or paraneoplastic process was excluded and the laboratory findings were evaluated,
the diagnosis was established according to Yamaguchi`s criteria.
